Music Ministries

MusicMusic is the gift God gives us to express our greatest praise, our deepest longings, our joys, and our sorrows. Music touches the congregation in spiritual and personal ways, allowing each person to find a connection to grace that strengthens and encourages their faithfulness. Our services have a traditional framework, with broad variations and creative directions. We sing fresh songs of praise alongside “old favorite” hymns of faith. We lead the congregation’s worship with songs performed by the choirs and instrumental arrangements. We encourage the congregation’s participation in hymns, prayer responses, and other musical elements of the service.

Alleluia Ringers

A willingness to learn and a good arm are all that is necessary to participate in the bell choir. If your desire is to use your musical gift to glorify God, we have a bell waiting to be rung by you! Rehearsals for this adult bell choir are Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Chancel Choir

The adult choir welcomes all who have a desire to sing the glorious music of the Church and serve in the leadership of worship at Woodhaven. A wide repertoire, from the classics to spirituals, is explored and celebrated in the regular Sunday service as well as seasonal music of the liturgical year. Rehearsals are each Wednesday from 7:30 to 8:45 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m., and we sing in worship at 10:30 a.m.

Children’s Choir

The Woodhaven Children’s Choir is for ages 4 (as of Sept 1st) through 5th grade. We meet Sunday mornings from 9:00 to 9:30 a.m. in Trinity Theater of the Education Building.  In addition to preparing anthems for worship services, the children learn basic music reading skills. Time is also spent singing traditional hymns and learning the use of our hymnal. The children have several opportunities for fellowship throughout the year, such as our Fall and Winter Kick-Offs, Christmas Caroling Party, and End-of-Year Choir Awards.
