Tracy Herron

Director of Music Ministries

What is your dream for Woodhaven?
I wish for Woodhaven to continue to be a welcoming place for ALL and that all who come through its doors feel that welcome and the love of God.

Where are you from and where did you go to school?
I am from Wichita, KS and went to Bethel Life School (a private non-denominational christian school sponsored by an Assemblies of God church) from grades 8-12. This is where I found my love for music. I have a bachelors degree from The Wichita State University and a Masters Degree from The University of Kansas.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy the outdoors. I like long walks, biking and running.
My music of course, occupies a lot of my free time.

Organist

What is your dream for Woodhaven?
My dream for Woodhaven is not only to continue and expand it’s mission of outreach to the local community, but make itself known to a wider population that it is a loving, accepting, and vibrant place for all who are seeking a church home.

Where are you from and where did you go to school?
I was born in Fargo, ND, adopted as an infant, and was grew up in Williston, ND. I was raised as a Lutheran and started playing for church services when I was in the sixth grade. After high school, I received my Bachelor of Music Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. I then moved to Texas and attended Stephen F. Austin State University, where I received a Master of Arts in Piano Performance.

What do you like to do in your free time?
I love to travel, especially to New York City. I enjoy the theater, museums, eating at new restaurants, and getting together with friends and family.

I have lived in Irving for 52 years and graduated from MacArthur in 1969. In 1971 I married my high school sweetheart, and we have three children and two granddaughters.

I retired from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas after 20 years, and worked part-time for Edward Jones for the last seven years. Tried staying at home for a bit, and found that it suits me if I work part-time.

I am so grateful to be working at Woodhaven with Pastor Diane, it allows me to be close to home (1.1 miles), and to also have time for family.
